🤝 Subscription Cost Split Calculator
Enter a shared subscription's total cost and how many people are splitting it to calculate each person's fair share.
Divide, then multiply by twelve
Two lines, in this order - the annual figure is built from the unrounded share, not the rounded one:
per person = total cost ÷ number of people
per person yearly = per person × 12
A $22.99 plan across four people is $5.7475 each, displayed as $5.75 a month and $68.97 a year. Notice that four lots of $5.75 come to $23.00, a cent more than the bill. Whoever holds the account can absorb the cent, or one person can pay $5.74 - it is not worth a spreadsheet, but it is worth knowing why the numbers look off by a penny.
Splitting a plan people can actually use
- Check the stream limit first. A plan that allows four simultaneous streams does not split six ways, however good the per-person price looks.
- Add extra-member fees to the total. Where a service charges for someone outside the household, that fee belongs in the total cost box before you divide.
- Use the annual row for settling up. Collecting $68.97 once a year is far less work than chasing $5.75 twelve times.
- The account holder carries the whole charge on their card and the risk that somebody stops paying. That is a fair reason to take a slightly smaller share.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a $22.99 plan split four ways?
$5.75 a month each, or $68.97 over a year. The exact share is $5.7475, so the four rounded payments add up to one cent more than the bill.
Is sharing a streaming account against the rules?
It depends on the service and on whether the people sharing live at the same address. Most now define sharing by household and sell a paid extra-member slot for anyone outside it. Check the terms before you split a plan four ways.
How do I split a subscription unevenly?
Count shares instead of people. If one person should pay double, that is three shares rather than two people: put 3 in the box, then charge them two of the resulting amounts.
