📺 Streaming Services Cost Calculator
Add your streaming subscriptions and their monthly cost to see your total monthly and annual streaming spend.
A running total, then twelve months of it
Each row is a service and its monthly price. The tool adds the column and multiplies:
monthly total = sum of every row
annual total = monthly total × 12
The three rows it opens with - $15.49, $13.99 and $11.99 - come to $41.47 a month and $497.64 a year. Those figures are hard-coded examples from when the page was written, not live prices; overwrite them with what your own statement says. A row with a blank or invalid price counts as $0, and an unnamed row is listed as "Service 1", "Service 2" and so on.
Getting your real number in
- Everything must be a monthly figure. A plan billed yearly needs dividing by 12 first - $139.99 a year goes in as $11.67.
- + Add Service appends a blank row and there is no delete button. To drop a service, set its cost to $0 or reload the page.
- Include the ones you forget. Music, cloud storage, a newspaper, the sports add-on billed through an app store - they land in the same budget as Netflix.
- Tax is not applied. If your bill shows sales tax on top, type the taxed amount or the annual figure will come in low.
Frequently asked questions
How much do people spend on streaming a month?
Three or four services is common, which at typical ad-free prices lands somewhere around $40-60 a month, or $500-700 a year. Your own total is the only one that matters, and it is usually higher than people guess.
How much does switching to an ad-supported tier save?
Roughly half the price of the ad-free plan on most services. Dropping one $15.49 subscription to a $7.99 ad tier saves $7.50 a month, or $90 over a year - more than most annual-plan discounts are worth.
What is the yearly cost of $41.47 a month?
$497.64. Multiply by 12. That figure assumes no price rises and no months off, so treat it as the cost of the current line-up rather than a forecast.
