🔂 Text Repeater
Repeat a word, phrase or line a chosen number of times, joined by a separator of your choice — useful for placeholder text, test data or just a bit of fun.
How long the output will be
The separator sits between copies only - never in front of the first or after the last - so the length is one short of the obvious answer:
length = text x times + separator x (times - 1)
"Hello!" 10 times, joined by ", "
= 6 x 10 + 2 x 9 = 78 characters
That figure is worked out before anything is built, and the result is refused above 200,000 characters, so a mistyped count cannot lock up the tab. The repeat count itself is capped at 10,000. The two limits meet at 19: with a newline separator, text of 19 characters is the longest that still reaches the full ten thousand repeats.
Picking a separator
| Choice | Use it for |
|---|---|
| New line | One copy per line - test rows, seed lists, a column to paste into a spreadsheet |
| Comma + space | Inline lists and quick CSV-style fixtures |
| None | Padding and fill strings, or a run of one character to test a field's length limit |
| Custom | Pipes, semicolons, arrows, or several characters at once - whatever you type is used verbatim |
Frequently asked questions
How do I repeat a word 100 times?
Type the word, set Times to 100 and choose a separator. The result appears as you type in the box below; click into it and select all to copy the lot.
Is there a limit on how much text it will produce?
Yes, two of them: 10,000 repeats, and 200,000 characters of output. Exceed the second and the tool tells you the size it would have been instead of building it.
Why does my emoji count as two characters against the limit?
Length is measured the way JavaScript measures it, in 16-bit units. Emoji and other characters outside the basic range take two units each, so they reach the 200,000 ceiling in half the repeats you might expect.
