📖 Stamp Album Page Capacity Calculator

Enter your total stamp count and how many stamps your album mounts per page to see how many pages you'll need.

How the page count is worked out

The tool divides the stamps by the capacity of one page and rounds the answer up, because a page that is one third full is still a page:

pages = ceiling(total stamps / stamps per page)

150 / 9 = 16.67  ->  17 pages
500 / 12 = 41.67 ->  42 pages

Leaving the capacity box empty makes it fall back to 1, so the page count jumps to one per stamp - a quick sign you cleared the wrong field. An empty stamp count reads as zero and returns no pages at all.

Choosing a realistic stamps-per-page figure

Capacity is set by the album, not the stamps, and the spread is wide:

Page typeTypical capacity
Printed country album page6-12, fixed by the illustrations
Blank quadrille page, mounted12-20 small definitives
Stockbook side, 8-9 strips30-50
Stock sheet, 3-8 pockets15-40, by pocket depth

Measure rather than guess: lay out one page the way you actually want it, count what fits with the spacing you like, and use that number. Blocks, covers and long commemoratives eat two or three ordinary slots each, so a collection heavy in those needs the capacity figure dropped.

Mounted pages are thick. A 2-inch binder that swallows 100 bare pages may only close on 50 to 60 once every stamp carries a black mount, so check binder capacity separately from page count.

Frequently asked questions

How many stamps fit on an album page?

Six to twelve on a printed album page, twelve to twenty on a blank quadrille page you lay out yourself, and thirty to fifty on a stockbook side. Size and spacing move all three.

How many pages do I need for 1,000 stamps?

At 9 per page, 112 - one thousand divided by nine is 111.1, rounded up. At 20 per page it is 50. The capacity figure matters more than the stamp count.

Should I count both sides of a page?

Only if you mount both sides. Printed albums are usually one-sided, and stockbooks are counted per side, so enter the capacity of the side you fill.
