🤔 Would You Rather Generator
A random "Would You Rather" question — great for parties, road trips or breaking the ice.
What the button actually does
Twenty dilemmas live in the page, each stored as two halves and shown as "option A / or / option B". The header numbers them - Question 7 of 20 - so a group can see how much of the set is left. Nothing loads from a server, so it works on a phone with no signal in the back of a car.
The draw excludes the question you just saw and then picks evenly from the other nineteen, at 5.26% each. That prevents an immediate repeat but not a near one: press eight times and there is an 80% chance something has come round twice. With a full set of 20, a group of six can each answer a different question, but do not count on ten in a row being distinct.
Making the questions land
These are written as balanced dilemmas, which is the only kind that works. Fly or turn invisible, super strength or super speed, lose your money or lose your photos - neither side is obviously right, so the table splits.
- Have everyone commit to an answer before anyone explains. Once one confident person reasons out loud, half the room quietly agrees with them.
- The follow-up "why" is the real game. The choice takes two seconds; the justification is what people remember.
- If the whole group picks the same side instantly, skip it. A unanimous answer means the question was not a dilemma.
Frequently asked questions
How many would you rather questions are in this generator?
20, spanning superpowers, technology trade-offs and life choices. The set is fixed, so it is the same twenty on every visit.
Can the same question appear twice in a row?
No. Whenever the draw lands on the one just shown it is discarded and repeated, so consecutive presses always give different questions.
What makes a good would you rather question?
Both options being about equally appealing, or equally awful. If most people answer without hesitating, the question has a right answer and is not worth asking.
