🎉 Truth or Dare Generator
Family-friendly Truth or Dare prompts — pick a side and get a random one.
What is in the two lists
Fifteen truths and fifteen dares, held in the page rather than fetched from anywhere, so nothing you press is recorded or sent. Truth and Dare draw from separate lists - pressing Truth never returns a dare - and every prompt in the chosen list has the same 1 in 15 chance, 6.7%.
There is no memory between presses, so prompts repeat, and sooner than a group expects. The odds of having seen at least one prompt twice:
| Draws from one list | Chance of a repeat |
|---|---|
| 5 | 52.5% |
| 6 | 68.4% |
| 8 | 89.9% |
Seeing all 15 of one list takes about 50 presses. For a group of six, expect the first repeat around the second lap and just redraw.
Running it at a party
- Everything here is safe indoors and needs nothing but a spoon and a bit of floor. No alcohol, and nothing that sends anyone outside or out of sight.
- The hardest physical ask is a 20-second plank or 10 jumping jacks, so it works with mixed ages and at a work event.
- Two dares touch social media - a status posted on your behalf, which the dare requires you to approve first, and the group choosing your profile picture for an hour. Swap those out for a younger group.
- Two more run for a set time - an accent for three rounds, a robot voice for two minutes - so someone needs to keep track.
Frequently asked questions
How many truth or dare questions are there?
30 in total - 15 truths and 15 dares. They are fixed, so the same set is there on every visit rather than changing daily.
Can the same prompt come up twice in a row?
Yes. Each press is an independent draw with a 1 in 15 chance of landing on the one you just had. Press again if it does.
Is this version suitable for kids?
Yes. The prompts are deliberately mild - favourite songs, silly fears, jumping jacks - with no drinking, no dating questions and only two prompts that involve a phone at all.
