🖌️ SVG to PNG Converter
Upload an SVG file or paste its markup, choose an output scale, and export a PNG. Conversion happens locally in your browser.
How the size is decided
Your markup is turned into a blob and handed to the browser's own SVG renderer, all on your machine - no file is uploaded. The output dimensions come from the SVG's intrinsic size multiplied by the scale box:
PNG width = round(svg width × scale)
PNG height = round(svg height × scale)
no intrinsic size -> falls back to 300 × 150
An SVG declaring width="64" height="64" at scale 4 lands as a 256×256 PNG. The scale runs from 0.5 to 10 in half steps, and because the vector is rasterised at the output size rather than blown up from a small bitmap, the edges stay genuinely sharp at 10×.
Why an SVG sometimes renders wrong
- External references are blocked. Rendered this way the SVG is a sealed document: linked stylesheets, embedded <image> URLs, scripts and web fonts are all ignored for security.
- Convert text to outlines first. Any <text> element falls back to a generic system font, so lettering shifts, re-wraps or overflows its box.
- Give the root a width and height. A viewBox alone leaves some browsers with no intrinsic size, and you get the 300×150 default with your artwork squeezed into it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an SVG to a PNG?
Pick the .svg file, or paste the markup into the box, set a scale and press Convert. The file input just fills the textarea, so you can tweak a colour or a dimension before exporting.
Why is the text in my SVG the wrong font?
Fonts referenced from inside the SVG are not loaded when it is rasterised this way, so text drops to a default face. Convert text to paths in your editor - Illustrator, Inkscape and Figma all have an outline command.
What scale should I use for a logo?
Work back from the pixels you need: a 64-unit icon at scale 8 gives 512 px, enough for a retina header. Anything above about 4 is only worth it when the artwork will be shown large.
