How the deck is read and moved through
One line is one card, split at its first pipe. The three sample cards load on arrival; Load Cards rebuilds the deck from the box and returns you to card 1.

Next / Previous wrap around: card 3 of 3 -> card 1
The deck keeps the order you typed - nothing is shuffled - and moving to another card always lands on the question side, so you never see an answer before you have tried to recall it. A line with no pipe, or with nothing before the pipe, is dropped.
Using it as retrieval practice
- Answer out loud before flipping. The effort of pulling the answer out is what builds the memory; recognising it once flipped does very little.
- Keep one fact per card. A card whose answer is three clauses long cannot be graded honestly - split it.
- Reorder to space things out. Since the deck follows your typing, cards on the same topic sitting together makes them easier than they should be. Interleave the lines.
Frequently asked questions
Can an answer contain a pipe character?
Yes. Only the first pipe on a line separates question from answer, and anything after it - pipes included - is kept as the answer.
Does it track which cards I keep getting wrong?
No, there is no scoring or scheduling here. Run a paper Leitner system alongside it: move a card you miss back to a deck you review daily, and one you know into a deck you revisit weekly.
How many cards should one deck hold?
Twenty to thirty for a single sitting. The tool takes as many lines as you paste, but a long deck means each card comes round rarely, which is the opposite of what makes flashcards work.
