🎯 Score to Par Calculator

Enter your total strokes for the round and the course par to see your score relative to par.

One subtraction, formatted the way a card is

The whole calculation is the difference between what you threw and what the course expects, then dressed in scorecard notation:

score to par = total strokes - course par
0 → "Even par"
above 0 → shown with a leading + (e.g. +4)
below 0 → shown as a negative (e.g. -4)

The defaults are 50 strokes on a par 54 course, so the result is -4: four under. Throw 58 on that same course and it reads +4, and 54 exactly gives Even par. The par you enter is the course total, not the number of holes - an 18-hole layout of all par 3s is 54, not 18.

Naming the strokes

The round figure is the sum of what happened hole by hole, and each hole result has its own name:

Hole resultName
-2Eagle
-1Birdie
0Par
+1Bogey
+2Double bogey

A -4 round on 18 holes might be six birdies and two bogeys, or four birdies and nothing dropped. The total says nothing about which, which is why players track both figures. A hole-in-one is an ace, and on a par 3 it scores as an eagle; three under on a single hole is an albatross.

An empty box counts as zero. Clear the par field and the result becomes your raw stroke count with a plus in front of it.

Frequently asked questions

What does -4 mean in disc golf?

Four throws fewer than par for the course. On a par 54 layout that is a round of 50, and lower is always better.

What is a good disc golf score for a beginner?

Finishing a par 54 course somewhere in the 60s is normal early on, and getting under par takes consistent 300-foot-plus drives and reliable putting inside 10 metres.

How do I score to par for just 9 holes?

Enter the 9-hole par, which is 27 when every hole is a par 3. Thirty strokes against that is +3.
