Which days the count includes
The total is the number of nights between the two dates: the start day is counted, the end day is not. Monday 7 September 2026 to Friday 11 September gives 4 days and 4 weekdays, not 5. That is the number you want for nights booked or days a subscription runs; add one to count the dates themselves.
The weekday and weekend tallies follow the same rule, and are counted by stepping through every day in the range rather than estimated from a weekly average, so part weeks and leap years stay correct.
Reading the three headline figures
- Total days - a plain day count. 8 September to 25 December 2026 is 108 days, of which 78 are weekdays and 30 weekend days.
- Full weeks - the total divided by seven and rounded down, so 108 days shows as 15 weeks with the leftover 3 days dropped.
- Calendar span - months and days as a person would say them, borrowing the length of the real month when needed. The same 108 days reads as 3 months 17 days.

How many days until Christmas?
Set the start to today and the end to 25 December. From 8 September 2026 that is 108 days.
Does the calculator count both the first and last day?
No - it counts the start date but stops before the end date. Add one for an inclusive count, which is what leave forms usually want.
How many working days are between two dates?
The Weekdays row gives it, counting Monday to Friday only. Public holidays are not deducted, so subtract those yourself.
