🎯 Yahtzee Score Calculator

Enter the points you scored in each Yahtzee category. This calculator totals your upper section, applies the standard 35-point bonus if your upper section reaches 63 or more, adds your lower section, and gives your grand total.

Upper Section

Lower Section

How the card totals up

The two sections are added separately because only the upper one earns a bonus:

upper = ones + twos + threes + fours + fives + sixes
bonus = 35 if upper ≥ 63, otherwise 0
lower = 3 of a kind + 4 of a kind + full house + both straights + Yahtzee + chance
grand = upper + bonus + lower

That 63 is three of each face: 3 + 6 + 9 + 12 + 15 + 18. The bonus line counts down for you, so an upper section of 62 reads “need 1 more” — and one extra six there takes 62 to 68 and pays the 35, a 41-point swing on a single die. Any box you have crossed out stays 0.

What belongs in each box

Four boxes are fixed amounts; the rest are the pips you actually rolled:

There is no box for the 100-point bonus each Yahtzee after the first earns. Add those into the Yahtzee field — 150 for a second one, 250 for a third. The field is labelled with a maximum of 50, but a larger figure still totals correctly.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get the 35-point bonus in Yahtzee?

Reach 63 in the upper section, which is three of each number. You can also get there unevenly — four sixes and four fives cover most of it on their own.

What is the highest possible Yahtzee score?

1,575, which needs thirteen Yahtzees and the joker rule. A strong real game lands between 250 and 300; anything over 350 is a night to remember.

What are the odds of rolling a Yahtzee?

1 in 1,296 on a single throw of five dice. Across a full turn of three rolls, keeping the most common face each time, it comes out at about 4.6%.
