🗜️ Compress PDF
Shrinks file size by re-encoding each page as a compressed image at the quality you choose — the best fit for photo-heavy or scanned PDFs.
How this works: each page is rendered and re-saved as a JPEG at the
resolution/quality below, then reassembled into a new PDF at the
original page size. That means the output is no longer
selectable/searchable text — great for shrinking scans and
image-heavy documents, not the right tool if you need to keep
copyable text (try a lower compression setting, or skip this for
text-only PDFs, which are usually small already).
