๐ Job Application Tracker
Add each job application with its status to keep track of your job search progress and see a quick summary.
What the tracker counts
Each row holds a company, a role and one of six statuses. Every keystroke rebuilds the card underneath: the list of applications, a tally of each status, and a badge with the row count.
total = rows on the page
count(status) = rows currently set to that status
statuses = Applied, Phone Screen, Interview,
Offer, Rejected, Withdrawn
The page opens with two examples - Acme Corp at Interview and Globex Inc at Applied - so the badge reads 2 total and the summary line shows Applied: 1, Interview: 1 and zero for the rest. Add or remove rows and both update at once.
Getting something useful out of it
- Empty rows still count. A row with no company is listed as Untitled and its role as a dash, and it is included in the total. Use Remove rather than clearing the boxes.
- Divide, do not compare. Thirty applications with three at Phone Screen is a 10% screening rate. Your own trend over a few weeks tells you more than any published benchmark, because it moves with your field, your level and the market you are in.
- Read where the drop happens. Plenty of applications and few phone screens points at the resume and the roles you pick; plenty of screens and no offers points at the interviews themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Does this job application tracker save my applications?
No. The rows exist only while the tab is open and a refresh clears them. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, which is good for privacy and bad for memory, so keep a copy elsewhere.
How do I track a job that never replied?
There is no ghosted status. Either leave it at Applied, or move it to Withdrawn once you have stopped waiting so that the Applied count only reflects live applications.
What is a good application to interview ratio?
It varies far too much by field, seniority and market for a single number to mean anything. The point of the tally is to measure yourself: divide your interview count by your total and watch which way it moves.
