📈 Decluttering Progress Tracker
Track your decluttering project room by room and see your overall completion percentage.
How progress is counted
Every room on the list counts the same, whatever its size. The tracker counts ticked boxes against rows:
progress = rooms ticked done / total rooms × 100
The three rooms it opens with - Kitchen ticked, Bedroom and Garage not - give 1 / 3, or 33.3 percent. Tick the bedroom and you jump to 66.7 percent. That step size is the thing to plan around: with three rows nothing moves by less than 33 points, while a ten-room list moves in tens.
Splitting rooms so the number means something
Use + Add Room for anything you would tackle in one sitting, and rename the rows to match your home. A garage is a day's work and a bathroom cabinet is twenty minutes, so listing both as one row each makes the percentage misleading. Break the big ones up:
- Garage becomes "Garage shelves", "Garage floor", "Garage loft".
- Bedroom becomes "Wardrobe", "Under bed", "Bedside drawers".
- Kitchen becomes "Pantry", "Pots and pans", "Junk drawer".
Fifteen even rows give you a percentage that climbs a few points at a time, which is far better at keeping a weekend project moving than three rows that sit at 33 percent all Saturday. Remove drops a row from both sides of the sum, so deleting a room you have decided to skip raises the percentage rather than leaving it stuck.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mark a room as half done?
No, the tick is all or nothing. Add a second row for the unfinished part - a half-cleared garage becomes "Garage shelves" done and "Garage floor" not.
How long does decluttering a house take?
Most people need one or two sessions per room-sized row. Ten rows at two hours each is a fortnight of evenings, which is why splitting rooms honestly matters more than the percentage itself.
Will my rooms still be here tomorrow?
No. There is no save or account behind this tracker, so a reload starts over. Keep a photo of the list, or write the rows down.
