🎨 BIMI Record Builder

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) shows your logo next to authenticated emails in supporting inboxes. Requires DMARC enforcement (p=quarantine or reject) to work. Publish the result at default._bimi.yourdomain.com.

How the record string is assembled

This builder never touches DNS. It joins the two fields you type into a BIMI TXT value entirely in your browser, in the fixed tag order the specification expects:

v=BIMI1; l=<logo URL>; a=<VMC URL>;

v=BIMI1; l=https://example.com/logo.svg;
v=BIMI1; l=https://example.com/logo.svg; a=https://example.com/vmc.pem;

The a= tag is only added when you fill the certificate box. Both URLs are rejected unless they start with https://, and an empty logo box is rejected outright. Publish the finished string as a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com; default is the selector, and you can publish others alongside it for separate sending streams.

What the record needs before a logo appears

Nothing here guarantees your logo will be shown. Each provider decides on its own reputation signals, and support varies by mailbox.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my BIMI logo not showing?

The usual causes are DMARC still at p=none, an SVG that is not Tiny PS, a logo URL that is not HTTPS, or a provider that wants a VMC. The record being syntactically valid is only the first of those conditions.

Do I need a VMC to publish a BIMI record?

No. The a= tag is optional and this tool leaves it out when the box is empty. Without one you get no verified checkmark, and some mailbox providers will not render the logo at all.

What does default._bimi mean?

default is the selector name. Senders that stamp a different selector into their messages read that selector's record instead, so default._bimi is simply the one used when no other is specified.
