🏅 Team Trivia Score Tracker
Add your trivia teams and their scores per round to keep a running total and see who's in the lead.
How the standings are worked out
Each row is a team, each small box a round. Every keystroke re-totals the whole board and re-sorts it:
team total = R1 + R2 + R3 + ... (an empty box counts as 0)
standings = totals sorted highest first, trophy to the top
The three sample teams show it: Quiz Wizards on 10 + 8 + 12 = 30, Trivia Titans on 9 + 11 + 9 = 29, Brain Trust on 7 + 10 + 10 = 27. Change the Titans' second round to 13 and they move to 31, taking the trophy without you pressing anything.
Running a quiz on it
- Add teams and rounds as you go. Add Team appends a row; Add Round Column adds a box to every team at once, so the sheet stays square. Three rounds are set up to start with.
- Half points and penalties both work. Type 2.5 for a split answer or -5 for a wrong buzz; the arrows step by 1 but the box will take any number.
- Empty is not the same as unplayed. A blank box is counted as zero, so a team that missed a round is scored as though they answered nothing.
- Unnamed teams show as Untitled rather than vanishing, which makes a forgotten name obvious on the scoreboard.
Frequently asked questions
How do you keep score at a team trivia night?
One row per team, one column per round, and a running total after each round so teams can see the gap. Read out the standings between rounds - it is the part of the night people come back for.
How do you break a tie in a quiz?
Ask a guess-the-number question and give it to whoever is closest, which settles it without another full round. Tied teams here simply hold the order you added them in, so the trophy on a tie is arbitrary.
Can I take points off a team?
Yes. Enter a negative number in that round's box and it subtracts from the total, which is the usual way to price a phone in a pocket or a wrong buzz on a bonus.
